Our Cultural Heritage

Both Families in France

We come from two different cultures and countries that makes us very open about the world. Jeff was born and raised in Texas, while Marion is from France, but has been in the United States for eight years. We love discovering each other’s cultures. With Jeff, it is all the beautiful landscape of the national parks, the taste of barbecue or going to watch a basketball game. With Marion, it is the food, the different parts of France and the historical landmarks. Our families are always curious and meet often together in Texas and have done a summer in France together. There is a beautiful harmony that has been created between our two families.

Marion works in a private international school, and she loves her job. She likes to see her students grow in this multi-cultural environment. After just a few years, her students are all bilingual, and it gives them great opportunities for the future to travel or to work where they want. It is also a great way to meet with diverse communities and discover other traditions. We are very excited for our child to attend this school. We believe cultural diversity is a great strength and are excited to raise our child in such an enriched environment. We will joyfully welcome and incorporate our future child's culture into our family life.

Our Life Priorities

Walking with Friends

Life isn’t easy sometimes, but we all have the same goal, to be happy.  For us, it is a priority to enjoy every moment of our life whether it is small or big, and it is what we want also for a child.

So what makes us happy?

One of the most important things is to have time with our loved ones. Our family and friends are very important and creating memories with them is essential. It can be just around a table having a meal, sharing an adventure or discussing our lives during a walk. We are always there for them when they need it and we feel that they are the same way for us. Creating a beautiful and safe home is something we work hard for every day. We love our home and take care of it, we know it will be a beautiful place to raise a child: watching them play in the garden, reading a book on the couch or helping us make cake in the kitchen.

Another thing is being in nature. It helps to recharge and bring us peace and calm; it is always a great moment to see animals or watch a beautiful sunset.

One of the last things is traveling, discovering new landscapes but also different cultures. To observe how people live, think and create gives us a better perspective of humanity and appreciation for life.

Our Lifestyle

Us in Sri Lanka

We are a curious and adventurous couple with a love for both home life and travel. During the week, you'll find us in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, from making fresh pasta to mastering the art of sushi. Our two friendly cats are always nearby, ready for a play session or a cuddle. We also take care of our vegetable garden and have a growing collection of indoor plants that Marion lovingly cares for. Evenings are often spent watching a movie, solving an escape game, or simply reading a good book. For us, family and friends are also very important, we love having time with them. We see our friends every weekend whether it is to enjoy a walk, have brunch or dinner together. As they all have children now, we also like to go to playgrounds or to babysit for them. Together, we really enjoy being in nature, whether it is going on a small weekend camping trip or a two-week camper van road trip through Oregon. We love experiencing the National parks and going for long hikes. Sometimes, our adventures bring us to more exotic places like Hawaii, where we swam in the ocean with sea turtles. Or when we travel to France to visit Marion’s family and do beautiful get aways to other countries like UK, Greece or Sri Lanka.

Our Extended Families

With Marion's Parents

Our parents can’t wait to be grandparents for the first time. We remember the reaction of Jeff’s dad when we told them that we would adopt a child, he directly proposed to help with childcare while we are at work. All our family is very supportive of our plans to adopt. Our family is half American and half French, which makes it unique. It is a beautiful mix of two cultures.

Jeff’s parents live less than a mile from our home which allows us to enjoy frequent time together. We like to share breakfast for dinner on Sunday. In addition, they are always a great help for taking care of our cats when we are travelling or for help with house projects.

With Jeff's Family

Jeff’s sister lives in Washington DC with her husband. Our tradition is to visit them every Thanksgiving. We always have a great time hiking or going to museums. When they come to visit us, we like to get together and go camping, enjoying outdoor activities like kayaking or hiking.

Marion’s parents and extended family live in France, and during two months in summer we visit them. It is always a great time cooking and discovering French Culture. They both decided to learn English and they have made a lot of progress as well as Jeff has made a lot of progress in learning French. They also come to visit once a year, and we love for them to discover beautiful places in America.

Our House and Neighborhood

The Front of Our House

We live in a suburb of north Texas in a beautiful single story mid-century home surrounded by trees and flowers. Our home has three bedrooms with a large kitchen and living room that are open to each other. We love to spend time cooking meals and relaxing on the couch in the living room watching a movie.

Our backyard is uniquely decorated with different street and advertising signs. It’s a great place to relax or get together with friends and family around a barbecue or a fire pit. We have a garden where we grow radish, butternut squash or tomatoes. We also have a lot of blackberry vines that are wonderful to eat during the summer. There is also a garage where Jeff works on projects for the home such as building a shed in the backyard with his father or renovating the bathroom.

Our suburb is culturally diverse and offers many festivals during the year. We live in a neighborhood with many children. Within walking distance from our home is a small neighborhood water park as well as multiple playgrounds and sports fields. Also, there are walking and biking trails as well as a lake where you can fish or watch the birds. The library by us offers a wide variety of books and reading programs.

There is a wonderful downtown area near us too which has great restaurants and entertainment. Every month there are events for children like chalk drawing or outdoor movies.

From Us to You

We want to begin by thanking you for taking the time to get to know us. We know this may be a difficult time, and we are holding you in our thoughts with all our support and respect. We have so much admiration for your strength and the love you hold for your baby. We want to express that it is an honor to consider us as potential parents.

A little about us, we have been together for over four years and happily married for three. From the very start of our relationship, we knew that we wanted to share our life together and create a family that blends our two cultures, French and American. Our relationship is built on a foundation of love, joy, and unconditional support for one another.

After a difficult journey through fertility treatments and loss, we have joyfully opened our hearts to adoption. For the first time in a long while, we are overwhelmed with hope and excitement at the possibility of welcoming a child into our lives. It feels wonderful to finally be preparing our home for a little one. We can already picture Marion reading a bedtime story or Jeff picking blackberries with him/her and after having hands covered in flour while teaching our little one how to make a pie.

Our life is full of creativity and learning. Jeff is a graphic designer who loves bringing creative ideas to life. Marion is a French teacher at a private international elementary school with a passion for nurturing young minds. We are excited that our child will be able to attend this wonderful school, as we want to give our child the world by having a bilingual education and a love for different cultures We want to provide a life for our child that is rich with experience and strong values such as empathy, honesty, perseverance, and love, with a little touch of fun and to build his/her own unique personality.

Our loving circle of family and friends has been our rock on this journey, and they can’t wait to shower a child with unconditional love. Jeff’s parents live very close by and are already dreaming of babysitting a child. Family traditions are central to our lives, from simple Sunday breakfasts together to spending our summers in France with Marion's family. We can't wait to share our favorite outdoor hobbies like camping under the stars, hiking through beautiful trails, traveling the world, and revisiting the beautiful places we’ve been, this time through a child's eyes.

If you choose us, we promise to provide a home filled with unconditional love, discovery, and endless laughter. We will always encourage him/her to pursue their dreams, and they will always know that they will be celebrated, cherished, and loved for exactly who they are.

We also promise to honor your connection to your child. We are committed to an open relationship, sharing letters and photos so you can witness their growth and know they are thriving. We will always speak of you positively and how deeply your love was from the very beginning. This child will grow up knowing their story, and that their life began with a brave and beautiful decision made by you.

We are thankful for considering us and helping us achieve our lifelong goal. We hope you see in us the loving family you dream for your child. It would be an honor to be chosen; we promise to love and support this child in every way and every day. No matter what you decide, we wish you peace and strength on your journey and in the future.

With gratitude and love,

Jeff & Marion
