Our Lifestyle

Christmas Dinner with Our Close Friends

Our lifestyle can best be described as active and always on the go. We love staying busy, whether it’s spending time with family, being outdoors, or trying new activities that keep us moving. Being active is important to us, and we enjoy filling our days with things that bring energy and joy.

Our Hocking Hills Trip in Ohio

We also have many different groups of friends, and we truly value those relationships. Whether it’s casual get‑togethers, dinner plans, weekend outings, or spontaneous adventures, we love being social and surrounding ourselves with people who bring laughter and good memories. Going out, whether to a nice restaurant, a fun event, or just a relaxing night with friends or just the two of us is something we always enjoy. Even with our busy schedules, we stay grounded, appreciative, and focused on making the most of each day. Our lifestyle is a balance of activity, connection, and staying true to who we are.

Our Family Traditions

Dave Teaching His Niece How to Make Pierogies

Our family traditions are an important part of who we are and how we stay connected. Every year, we take a weeklong family vacation where we slow down, relax, eat well, and enjoy simple moments together. We love spending evenings around bonfires, enjoying lake activities, and creating memories that we look forward to all year long. The holidays are also a special time for us and our families gather on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to exchange gifts, share Christmas dinner, and celebrate togetherness on both sides of the family.

One of our most cherished traditions is making pierogies with Katie’s side of the family, something she has been doing since childhood. It’s truly a full-day production, but the laughter, teamwork, and stories shared make it a highlight every year. We also celebrate everyone’s birthday as a big event, gathering the whole family, inviting friends, and making the persons whose birthday we celebrate feel extra special. These traditions keep us close, give us moments to look forward to, and help strengthen the bond we share as a family.

Our Life Priorities

With Katie's Niece Emmi and Her Sister

The highest priority in our life is our family. Spending meaningful time together, looking out for one another, and truly enjoying each other’s company are the moments that ground us and remind us of what matters most. Our relationships create a foundation of love, support, and connection that we value above everything else. We believe in being present for each other and not just during celebrations, but also through challenges, changes, and everyday routines. Family gives us a sense of belonging and purpose, and we make it a point to create traditions, share experiences, and build memories that strengthen our bond year after year. Another important priority is maintaining a strong work ethic and being hardworking, setting goals, and staying humble as we move through life’s challenges and opportunities. We believe that success comes not only from ambition but from gratitude and integrity as well. Our health is also essential, because taking care of ourselves allows us to make the most out of every day. We strive to eat well, stay active, and maintain habits that support a long, fulfilling life. We also believe in contributing to our community, supporting others, and being part of something bigger than ourselves. By focusing on these priorities, we stay centered on what brings us joy, meaning, and purpose, guiding our choices and helping us grow together.

Our Extended Families

With Dave's Family

Katie is one of four siblings, and her family lives just about thirty minutes from us, so we get together almost every other weekend. We rotate houses, cook big meals, and simply enjoy being together. A favorite winter tradition is when her brother builds an ice rink in his backyard, and the kids and adults lace up skates, warm up by the bonfire, and sip hot chocolate. What makes Katie’s family unique is how naturally everyone gets along. Even with age differences, we share the same circle of friends and genuinely love spending time together.

With Katie's Family

Dave is one of five siblings, and his family is large, fun, and full of strong sibling bonds, including his twin sister. Though his two sisters live out of state, we see them often, and they usually stay with us when they’re in town. Whether it’s card games, hanging out in the kitchen, or catching up, time with his family always feels easy and welcoming.

Our families are a big part of our everyday life, and we’re grateful for how close‑knit they both are. Both of our families are incredibly excited and supportive of our adoption plan. They’re ready to surround your child with love, stability, and a big, joyful extended family.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We love the community we live in and feel incredibly grateful to call it home. We moved into our neighborhood in October 2021, and because it’s relatively new and still developing, most of the families are around the same stage of life as we are. There are children everywhere, and this past Halloween we counted nearly 250 trick‑or‑treaters! It’s the kind of place where kids play outside together, neighbors chat in driveways, and families look out for one another. Our house is at the end of a cul‑de‑sac, which has been a wonderful bonus especially in the summer when the neighborhood kids gather there to ride bikes, draw with chalk, and play safely for hours. It creates a natural, friendly meeting spot right outside our front door.

The neighborhood continues to grow, with plans for a clubhouse that will include a pool, playground, baseball field, tennis court, and fishing ponds. Annual events like neighborhood garage sales, food‑truck nights, and summer block parties help everyone connect and build strong, lasting friendships.

Our home has four bedrooms and an open‑concept main level, making it perfect for gathering, hosting, and staying connected while cooking or relaxing. Our basement is a hangout area with a ping pong table, air hockey, and plenty of space to unwind and play. It’s a warm, family‑focused community where a child can grow up surrounded by friends, laughter, and support.

From Us to You

Wow! How lucky we are that you are taking the time to read this letter. We can only imagine how overwhelming this journey may feel as you look through many profiles, stories, and families while trying to make the best possible decision for your baby. We are truly honored that you are reading ours. Please know that we see your strength, we admire your courage, and we deeply respect the love that has brought you to this moment.

As we sit down to write this, our hearts are full of gratitude and not only for the possibility of growing our family through adoption, but for you, the remarkable woman behind that possibility. We understand that this is not a simple or easy process, and although we can’t fully understand everything you may be feeling, we want you to know we are holding you in our thoughts with compassion, respect, and hope.

Family is the center of our world. We value love, connection, honesty, and supporting one another through all of life’s chapters. For us, adopting a child is not just about becoming parents, it is about welcoming a new person into a circle of unconditional love, safety, laughter, and opportunity. We have dreamed about this for a long time, and our hearts feel so ready to embrace a child who will be cherished for exactly who they are.

We also want you to know that your story, your love, and your presence will always be honored. We believe it is incredibly important that a child knows where they come from and understands the love that led to their adoption. We plan to speak openly and lovingly about you from the very beginning, ensuring that your child grows up knowing who you are and the role you played in shaping their life.

When it comes to ongoing contact, we are open and flexible to what feels right for you. Whether that means exchanging emails, sharing photos or updates, having occasional phone calls, or even planning future visits, we are open to creating a relationship that supports everyone involved, especially the child. We believe that connection can be a beautiful gift, and we are committed to building one that is healthy, respectful, and centered around the child’s well being.

We also want you to know that we are a very active, close knit family who loves adventures, spending time together, and surrounding ourselves with people who enrich our lives. Your child will grow up in a home filled with love, laughter, encouragement, and endless support. We will celebrate their milestones, nurture their interests, cheer for their dreams, and give them a foundation of stability and love. Most importantly, we will always be there emotionally and listening, guiding, comforting, and helping them grow into a confident, well-adjusted individual.

As we imagine the future, we picture a life full of camping trips, lake vacations, family traditions, holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, and quiet everyday moments that become the memories children hold onto forever. We picture a child who feels safe, valued, and deeply connected and not only to us, but also to their story, their heritage, and the amazing woman who helped bring them into the world.

We want you to make whatever decision feels right for you and your baby. Whatever you choose, we hope you feel supported, respected, and surrounded by compassion. If the path leads us together, we promise to care for your child with the utmost love, dedication, and gratitude. And we promise to honor you and your love, your choice, and your place in their life.
