Will & Maggie

"Because when I look at you, I can feel it. And I look at you and I'm home." - Dory, Finding Nemo

This is how we feel about adoption and about every existing and future member of our family (even the furry ones) - the love we have for each other is what makes our home! We would be forever grateful for the opportunity to grow our family and to share that love!

Why We Chose Adoption

Our Family

Adoption has always been a significant part of our lives, woven into our family's story through relatives who adopted and were adopted themselves. This history has shown us the profound impact and love that adoption brings.

Today, our lively household is filled with the joyful chaos of our four children—three spoiled dogs and our very happy son. Our home resonates with laughter, dancing, singing, and the unconditional love that our canine and human children share. While some might find our deep connection to our pets unconventional, we see them as true extensions of our family. Their unique personalities and the time we spend together make our lives immeasurably richer.

Our journey to our son was particularly meaningful. After navigating two complicated surgeries, two failed IVF attempts, and receiving the devastating news from fertility experts that conceiving naturally would be impossible, we were blessed with a beautiful miracle. This unexpected joy came into our lives after Maggie made a promise to God/the Universe regarding adoption—a path she had long felt destined to pursue. This miraculous arrival solidified our plans to adopt.

We feel incredibly blessed by our loving family and are eagerly looking forward to adding one more member to our fold!

Our Passions

Maggie Walking

We have a wide variety of passions!

For Maggie, the world of languages is a deep fascination; she is fluent in five. This love of language is matched by her travel adventures, having resided in five different countries and experienced life across eleven distinct US cities. She is also very passionate at creating new features at work having been at the same tech company for almost seven years now. However, her most immediate and focused passion right now is her health and fitness journey: working hard to return to her pre-pregnancy weight and shed the baby weight.

Drum Hats

Will's interests are equally diverse, with a primary focus on the exhilarating world of sports. His viewing habits range from baseball, Formula 1 and football to the unique sport of sumo, and he actively participates in both fantasy football and fantasy sumo leagues. Beyond the arena, Will is an enthusiast of history and anime, and he cherishes weekend family drives. Yet, his ultimate and reigning passion is cooking, particularly the art of grilling. He is also thrilled to finish school this semester and they are both excited about the next step in their lives!

Our Individual Strengths

We are the perfect complements, a true example of a yin and yang relationship. Maggie is highly driven and passionate, bringing her intelligence and caring nature to everything she does and everyone she loves. She will not give up until the task is done. Her strong ambition is beautifully balanced by Will's laid-back and supportive nature. He is a rock of strength for Maggie and those around him, grounding them with his steady presence (and incredible cooking skills!). He is highly intelligent and a people person, naturally fitting in in any room and also deeply cares for people. This complementary dynamic allows us to face any challenge, because we can find the ideal balance between accepting what cannot be changed and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Our greatest strength, however, lies in our deep, nonverbal understanding—an ability to anticipate and help each other without needing to be asked. This quiet, unspoken communication is a testament to the harmony we've built together!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home at Christmas

We currently live in a very safe gated community surrounded by neighborhood parks with jungle gyms and friendly neighbors (many kids)! The atmosphere is lively and everyone is friendly and we love going for walks together!

Since this is Florida, most houses have a private pool, including us and we love playing in the pool with our son and watching him frolic in the water splash pad/chase our dog children around the backyard while Will grills! However, we take safety very seriously and have our son in swim classes and just in case of emergencies, we have a hospital with an ER 5 min away! Aside from that we also take him to a child-friendly gym with a zipline, jungle gym, etc. (all supervised by parents and coaches).

That is what a typical weekend looks like and during the week he attends a Montessori daycare with a secure entrance with children his age! Once he gets home from daycare, he can either play in the living room/play room (Will say it's decorated toddler chic) or in our favorite room, what we call the castle room! It is a room dedicated to playing and learning including a castle playset with slide, a mini rollercoaster and a ton of toys!

Our home has five bedrooms - plenty of room to expand and is already baby and toddler proof! We look forward to extending all of these activities with another child and watching them grow up together in our home!

Our Extended Families

Maggie's Family

We have a large extended family as each of us has a brother and a sister and all but one are married with kids. Even though our families are very similar, they are also very different as we come from different cultures. But that didn't stop them from welcoming us with big open arms and also welcoming our three dogs and toddler! This is why we intend to always live near at least one family member because family is the most important thing to us. Initially we lived near Will's family, but now we live minutes away from Maggie's family in the same place where she grew up.

Will's Family

That doesn't mean we don't see the other side though! We visit regularly, especially during our two biggest yearly traditions: eating Will's delicious Thanksgiving dinner (Including Turkey, pumpkin pie and all the fixings! He missed his calling as a chef!) and going to Disney with one of the grandmas during Christmas. (They hope this Christmas, the family will be at least one member bigger!)

Our families are thrilled we are adopting as adoption has always been a part of our lives in one form or another! They want the family to keep growing and are very excited to meet and love the newest addition!

From Us to You

We can only begin to imagine the weight and complexity of the emotions you are navigating right now. We want you to know that we are also walking this path with a profound mix of excitement and deep humility. Your journey is one of immense courage, and we want to assure you that you are not alone in it. We believe it takes a village to raise a child, and our greatest hope is to partner with you as we embark on this special path together. While this process can be intense and emotional, we are confident that the reward—a beautiful family—will be immeasurable. We are filled with so much excitement at the prospect of adding another child to our family, and we are incredibly grateful that you are taking the time to consider us.

Our home is a testament to the fact that best friends can also be best parents. Our lively crew consists of three little white dogs with huge personalities and our sweet son. Our house is constantly filled with laughter, music, and joy. We love to make noise—singing, dancing, and playing our instruments (including the drums!)—but we also appreciate quiet time, as we are masters of the perfect nap! We also highly value learning with lots of educational fun toys and shows and always create safe spaces. As a family, we also cherish our time cooking and eating together, with our canine companions often joining in on the fun. With Maggie working from home and Will as a stay-at-home dad, our family is always connected and engaged. We also live within a few minutes of family and we get together all of the time and because of that, our son has grown up with most of his cousins! We love our family deeply and cannot wait to extend that love to another child.

Our marriage has been tested and strengthened over the past decade. The hardest obstacle we faced was our fertility journey, which brought years of hopelessness and pain. Yet, our love for each other never wavered, and we were eventually blessed with our miracle, our son. Having gone through that challenge, we have a profound appreciation for life and the resilience of the human spirit. In fact, our miracle was a two-fold blessing, arriving after we had already promised to build our family through adoption. This promise was made through prayer and even though we are not religious, we do believe in a higher power.

Now, our family is ready to welcome another child with open hearts and a loving home. We are committed to fostering an open relationship and are willing to provide updates through letters and pictures. We would also welcome the opportunity for more direct contact through emails and phone calls. To make it even easier to stay connected, we are open to the idea of creating a private online space so that you can watch your child grow and thrive, feeling as though you are a part of their daily life.

We hope you see a reflection of your dreams for your child in our family, but no matter what you decide, we want you to trust your instincts and follow your heart.
