Adoption has always been a central and cherished part of Jess' life, as both of her parents were adopted into large, loving families. Their own positive experiences with adoption have profoundly shaped Jess' understanding of family and love. From a young age, she knew that adoption would be the path she would take to start building her own family. Her parents are thrilled to continue their role as supporters and positive influences, ready to guide and uplift a child on their own adoption journey.

Nic grew up with friends who were adopted and spent a lot of time with their families, which gave him a firsthand look at the beauty and significance of adoption. Through these experiences, he was deeply inspired by the love and openness of families who embraced adoption, and it opened his eyes to the idea of building his own family in this way.

Witnessing the strong bonds and the joy that adoption brought to his friends' lives left a lasting impression on Nic, and it sparked his own desire to start a family through this process.

Jess knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals, and today, as a Registered Veterinary Technician, she fulfills that dream by providing medical care to small animals like dogs and cats. Every day, she feels incredibly fortunate to be able to make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Jess is excited to share this passion with a child, nurturing a sense of empathy and compassion while encouraging them to explore the things in life that bring them joy and fulfillment. She hopes that her love for animals and her desire to help others will inspire a child to embrace kindness and pursue their own passions with confidence. Nic has a deep passion for working on classic cars and restoring them to their original glory. One of his most cherished possessions is a 1969 Chevy Nova, which he inherited from his idol—his grandfather. This car holds a special place in his heart, as it was the car he grew up driving around in, and it was through those experiences with his grandfather that his love for classic cars began. Nic hopes to pass on that same passion and knowledge, teaching a child about the joy of restoring cars and sharing the hands-on experiences that shaped his own childhood. He looks forward to building similar memories and bonds, just as he did with his grandfather.

We are fortunate to live just a short 5-minute drive away from Nic’s sister, her husband, and our wonderful niece and nephew. Our family comes together every week for dinners, which often include barbecues, board games, and countless cherished moments. We look forward to the day a child can join in on these traditions and create memories with us all.

Our extended families, though a quick 4-hour drive away, are a constant presence in our lives, with nearly monthly gatherings. Nic has a strong connection with to his two sisters, parents, and grandparents. He is fortunate to be part of a large, vibrant family that brings energy and joy to every gathering. Whether it's a holiday, celebration, or casual get-together, his family fills the room with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

Jess shares a deep, loving bond with her parents and sister. Both of Jess's parents were adopted into incredibly supportive and caring families when they were young, and we hope their positive adoption experiences will be a source of strength and inspiration for our child throughout their life.

Our families are united in their excitement to support us on this adoption journey. They can’t wait to welcome a child into their hearts and begin showering them with love.

We live in a charming three-bedroom two-bathroom home with a spacious yard, located in the heart of the beautiful California Central Coast. Our favorite moments are spent in the family room, enjoying movies, playing games, and reading together. We also love spending time in our backyard, where we watch our dogs play and our three chickens roam freely.

Our neighborhood is just under a mile from the city’s lovely main park, which we often visit with our niece and nephew. We’re fortunate to have many neighbors with young children, and we’re excited for our child to grow up surrounded by friends they can connect with right next door. We also feel incredibly lucky to be only 20 minutes from the ocean. We make the most of it, enjoying beach days and hiking whenever we can. 

Our town may be small, but it is always bustling with family-oriented events that bring the community together. The heart of the town hosts a variety of celebrations throughout the year, from lively tamale festivals and festive Christmas concerts to cozy fall harvest activities. The sense of community is strong where we live, and there's always something fun and exciting for everyone to enjoy.

Our names are Nic and Jess. We are 30 and 27 years old and have been together for almost seven years, married for two and a half. From the very beginning of our relationship, we knew that adoption was the path through which we would grow our family.
