Dylan & Kat
Thank you so much for considering us! We're so excited and hopeful about starting our family through adoption. If we're lucky enough to welcome a child into our lives, they'll be loved, supported, and cherished every single day. We're so grateful you're taking the time to get to know us and truly honored to be part of your consideration as you make this important decision.
Our Leisure Time

In our free time, we love reading and spending time in our yard, usually relaxing in hammocks and enjoying the fresh air. We take our dogs on local hikes and enjoy weekend road trips or camping, especially by the river or at the beach. We also like exploring nearby towns, stopping at used bookstores or game shops, and on nights out we often catch a comedy show.
Family time is just as important to us, whether it's a casual weekend get-together or a big holiday celebration.
On our own, Dylan is passionate about gaming and plays Dungeons & Dragons with friends every week. He also enjoys weightlifting and has recently gotten into baking bread. Kat loves reality TV, playing trivia once a week at a local brewery with friends, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Kat About Dylan: Dylan is the chillest, most patient person I've ever met. Even in stressful situations, he never gets riled up. He's exactly the person you want by your side in an emergency because he always keeps his cool. His calm demeanor perfectly balances my more high-strung nature. He also has an incredible sense of humor and can make me laugh no matter what life throws our way. He's smart, hardworking, a wonderful partner, and my best friend.
Dylan About Kat: Kat is smart, fun, and always stands up for the things that matter to her. I know without a doubt that she is going to be a wonderful mother. She's incredibly caring and listens to me with patience and kindness, always supporting me no matter what. She even finds it fun to be stuck in a car with me for 16 hours, driving to a fantasy book convention in a state she had no interest in, all while listening patiently as I ramble on about a book world she doesn't really care about. That's real love.
Our Dogs, Henry & Ferguson

Our dogs, Henry and Ferguson, bring a lot of joy into our lives, along with a steady supply of dog hair and muddy paw prints. They make our home feel warm and full of life every single day.
Henry is a 15-year-old beagle who's mostly deaf now, but he still has plenty of energy and curiosity. He's independent and stubborn in the best way and always doing his own thing, but never too far from the action. Ferguson is our 8-year-old terrier mix and Henry's total opposite. He wants to be with you all the time, ideally in your lap. He's affectionate, loyal, and never misses a chance to curl up next to someone.
One of the best parts of any day is coming home to them. They're always excited to see us, no matter what. We love taking them on hikes, to the dog park, or camping when the weather is nice.
They have been around plenty of kids (family and friends) and are super patient and loving. We're confident they'll be wonderful companions and friends to a child, as they have been to us all these years.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in Northern California, about an hour outside of San Francisco. Our neighborhood is a hillside community with a small-town feel, even though we're close to a major city. The area is surrounded by tall redwoods, hiking trails, and beautiful parks. We often see deer and birds, and occasionally even a pack of wild turkeys will wander through the neighborhood.
Our home is a single-story, three-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a large wraparound yard. We have several fruit trees, including apple, pear, plum, and cherry, and love spending time outside having family BBQs or reading in our hammock. It's incredibly quiet and peaceful, and when you look out any window, you're greeted by nature. It almost feels like you're camping, but with all the comforts of home.
Inside, the central living area is a large great room centered around a cozy fireplace. Dylan spends a lot of time in the kitchen, where he enjoys baking bread and trying new recipes. Kat works from home in her office, which overlooks the backyard.
The town has a strong sense of community, with great schools nearby, a wonderful local library, and a farmers market every Sunday. Many families with young children live nearby, and it's easy to imagine a child growing up here surrounded by great neighbors and plenty of space to play and explore.
Our Extended Families

We have a lot of family nearby, since we were both born and raised in Northern California. Both of our parents live close to us, as do Kat's sister and her husband, who have two wonderful kids (ages 4 and 6), and Dylan's older brother.
Summers often find us at Kat's parents' house, where there's a pool and a small creek to play in. We also enjoy family camping trips together. Most weekends, we like to keep things low-key with family dinners and trips to the farmers market or Target. On holidays, Dylan is always in charge of the turkey, and his gravy has become legendary in our family.

We babysit our niece and nephew often, and they absolutely love spending time with Auntie Kat and Uncle Dylan. Whether it's playing red light/green light, finding hidden gems at neighborhood garage sales, or building the world's tallest Lego tower, spending time with Liv and Nico is always the highlight of our week. Adding another child of our own to the group would be the icing on the cake. They would be loved beyond measure, with no shortage of family fun and adventures. Liv and Nico can't wait to have a younger cousin to dote on!
Family is very important to us, and Dylan and I have strong relationships with our parents and siblings, built on trust, unconditional love, and support. Our family is easygoing, full of laughter, and very supportive of our plans to adopt. We all look forward to welcoming a child into the family.
From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We cannot imagine how hard this decision must be for you, and we admire your strength and courage in considering adoption for your child.
We're Kat and Dylan. We have been together for twelve years and married for six. From the start of our relationship, we dreamed of having a big, loving family. We can't wait to fill our home with the chaos, mess, and laughter that a child brings. We're ready for all the sing-alongs, giggles, and the wonderful unpredictability of everyday life with a child.
We cannot promise to be perfect parents. We know we will make mistakes; everyone does. But we can promise to do our best every single day to give your child the best life possible. We will always love, support, and provide for them. We will listen closely, be there to catch them when they fall, and dry their tears. We will celebrate their successes, big and small; encourage their biggest dreams; and help them build the confidence to chase those dreams. We will guide them with patience and kindness, teaching compassion and respect for others. We will encourage them to be curious about the world and to always be true to themselves, no matter what. We will hold their hand when they need comfort and give them space when they need independence. Above all, we will always be a safe place for them to land.
About five years ago, we began trying to have a child but faced challenges with infertility. We went through several rounds of IVF and experienced multiple miscarriages. Although those times were heartbreaking, they never ended our hope of becoming parents. Adoption has always been part of our story, not a backup plan, but a meaningful path we now feel was meant for us. We believe our family is out there, and adoption is how we will find each other.
We are lucky to have large, loving families nearby, along with many close friends who are like family to us. Our future child will always have a great group of people around them to cheer them on and be there through all of life's ups and downs.
We believe in open communication and honesty and hope to build a relationship with you that honors your role in this child's life in whatever way feels right for you. If you choose us, we are open to as much or as little contact as you would like. We can send letters and pictures, exchange emails, arrange FaceTime calls, or even plan yearly visits if that is something you want. From the very beginning, your child will know they were deeply loved by you and that your decision came from a place of immense care and selflessness.
We are so grateful that you have taken the time to get to know us. No matter what you decide, we wish you peace and strength on your journey.
